College made me retarded.

So, on Sunday I made a cake. This evening, there was ~3 pieces left. My roommate ate one piece. Being Utah, everything gets really dry very quickly, and so we've taken to microwaving our pieces of cake prior to eating them. This accelerates the water molecules AND makes it warm, so it's moist and the prime temperature for eating.

After smelling warm cake, I decided I wanted a piece, too. So I grab a paper plate from my cabinet and slice off a piece, and put my cake-on-plate in the microwave.
Being lazy, I press the "+1 minute" button, thinking that I'll just pull it out in 10 seconds... but no, I ask Mireya (my cake-eating roommate) a question, and completely forget my cake until the microwave beeps at me....

The icing on my cake had entirely melted off and caramelized (read: burnt) in a puddle beside my cake, and the cake had been nuked.

Mireya and I laughed at my laziness, and then I coveted the last precious slice of cake and put it on a new paper plate to toss in the microwave.

Take Two:
Mireya instructs me to just mash the "Start" button, which turns on the microwave for just 30 seconds-- but I dont want to risk it, so I mash the "Start" button and then stop it after 15 seconds.

TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER...

Mireya: "Uh, Emma... are you special ed?" *pulls piece of cake out of microwave*
Emma: "HOLY CRAP! I FORGOT!!"

lets just say, between texting, doing homework, watching The Big Bang Theory, and eating dinner... I forgot all about my cake. which is now rock hard. :(

maybe it's not as funny in re-play... but I was laughing uncontrollably for a good, solid minute.

BOWLING!

My peer-review group and I went bowling.....
I lost terribly. and Kyle (center) won... by a lot.

Humane?

“What are we? Humans? Or animals? Or savages?"

(Piggy fromThe Lord Of The Flies)

Humans can be sick, sadistic, twisted monsters. Just look at the Crusades, at massacres, wars, oppression, rebellions, dictatorships, genocide, violent movements... Humans can be so mentally ill and disturbed. Humans inflict enourmous amounts of harm on eachother, on animals, on culture, on nature. Humans...

“To dream anything that you want to dream. That's the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will.”

No Wisdom Here.

You will find no Wisdom here.
(Star Wars reference, thank you to those who chuckled.)

Wisdom is, to me, the artful combination of intelligence and knowledge, slow-cooked to a perfect golden hue, and expressed when the chef of such Wisdom has finally experienced enough Life to offer us young "hooligans" a sound piece of Mind.

Though young and fairly inexperienced, I tend to feel that I have a myriad of knowledgable facts (occaisonally useful, usually random) bombarding my poor mind with information.

Sometimes I voice these nuggets-o'-knowledge, offering advice and statistics whether they're welcome or not.
Sometimes I bite my tongue, waiting for the right moment to slide a comment or suggestion into a conversation; that perfect moment never arises, and my piece of mind goes unvoiced.
And often, I say something and I just can't remember why on earth I was possessed to make an idiot of myself.

So this blog, live the HAPPY life, is dedicated to voicing all my opinions. And, updating the poor users of the virtual-bottomless-pit we call the "internet" of my life in general, aside from my horse... (check out my other blog, a little HOT BRASS, for that)

In conclusion:

My title is the combination of two goals (inspired by two books) I am striving to synergize into my life before I am 21.

1) Live the Good Life
(by Thomas S. Monson)
2) Be HAPPY
(refer to Gretchin Rubin's The Happiness Project)

Welcome to my silly life.
